Our standards

Editorial Policy

Principles for sourcing, accuracy, images, and commercial material.

These standards describe how PopularDaily approaches the selection, sourcing and presentation of entertainment and internet-culture stories.

Story selection

Coverage should start with a question readers genuinely have, a verifiable event, or a useful cultural development. A circulating post is a lead to investigate, not proof on its own. Headlines and summaries should represent what the article actually establishes.

Research, sources, and quotations

Writers should seek direct statements, original posts, public records, interviews, or other primary material when available. Secondary coverage can supply context, but it should be attributed and should not be repackaged as original reporting. Important claims should be traceable to a named source or clearly identified as unconfirmed.

Quotations should be checked against the source and kept in context. If a statement is paraphrased, it should not be presented in quotation marks. When facts are still developing, an article should say what is known and what remains uncertain.

Writing and human review

Articles should add context, explanation, or reporting that helps a reader beyond the source material. Automated tools may assist with research organization or drafting; their output should not be treated as a source. A human editor should check names, dates, claims, quotations, links, and the final headline before publication.

Images and sensitive subjects

Images should be relevant and used with an appropriate license, permission, or other lawful basis. Credits and captions should explain what an image shows. Illustrative or AI-generated imagery should be identified when it could otherwise be mistaken for documentary photography.

Private matters, allegations, and claims that could harm a person’s reputation need particular care. The fact that a claim is popular online does not make it accurate or suitable to repeat.

Updates, corrections, and commercial material

Meaningful updates should be distinguishable from routine formatting edits. Material factual corrections should be noted on the affected article with a date and a clear explanation. Advertising, affiliate relationships, and sponsored stories should be labeled and visually separate from independent editorial work.
