Severe weather warnings forced tour organizers to cancel two back-to-back stadium shows in Massachusetts, with automatic ticket refunds issued.
Grammy-winning singer Ed Sheeran has been forced to cancel his upcoming stadium performances in Massachusetts due to dangerous storm forecasts.
Key Takeaways
- Both Friday and Saturday night concerts at Gillette Stadium were officially called off.
- National Weather Service alerts warned of heavy coastal flooding and gale-force wind gusts.
- Ticketmaster announced automatic refunds for all primary purchasers within thirty days.
Dangerous Coastal Winds Force Stadium Closure
Concert promoter Messina Touring and stadium officials in Foxborough announced the difficult decision following consultations with emergency management agencies. Meteorologists projected sustained sixty-mile-per-hour winds that posed severe hazards for open-air stage rigging.
With over one hundred thousand fans scheduled to attend across two evenings, regional public safety officials determined that holding the massive gathering was unsafe.

While Sheeran expressed deep regret over the cancellation, he urged attendees to stay safe indoors as the severe front moves across the northeastern coastline.
